Last year, a team from Trinity traveled to Burundi, in Central Africa, to serve people who have endured over a decade of civil war and genocide. We worked with Women of Global Action (WOGA), in partnership with PACWA (Pan-African Women's Christian Alliance) in helping women and their families move forward. Women are being prayed for, discipled, and trained in sewing and in hair-dressing. They are learning how much God loves and values them, and that He has a future and a hope for them. This program is directed by Peace Nihorimbere, whom many of you have met.
Burundi will hold their presidential elections on June 28. This is a dangerous time for the country as opposing parties have already made allegations that the May district elections were not run fairly. Often, violence erupts after major elections. The lives of these women and their families will be impacted by the election process and the election results. Let's join Peace, her team, and our Burundian sisters in lifting these elections up to the Lord:
Please pray for:
- Peaceful elections resulting in a president who will work for the good of this nation
- The Lord's protection on the nation of Burundi, and on the women who are in WOGA's programs in Burundi
- Peace for the hearts of these women who have already suffered so much and are just learning to put their hope in the God who loves them
