Pray for our team as they enjoy seeing God at work in Liberia

Take a moment right now to pray for our team in Liberia as they experience all the ways God is multiplying our efforts there. The new clinic and cafeteria are coming along great and each team member has found unique ways to serve the Liberian people. Even so, they see many examples of how God has been at work while we were back in the U.S. One example of the energy and vision of the Liberians is a ministry called the Yassah's Sisters. Here is a report from Heather on their progress:

"The Yassah's Sisters in Lafayette started with an initial investment of $700 to buy planting tools and seeds for 15 women.  Once the women in Zudor Village realized this was not a false promise of help, every woman in the community wanted to be a part of this program.  Today we have 100 women and 10 men in the program.

Wednesday we returned to the village to meet with the women and see the results of their labor.  I was amazed with how they've organized themselves.  They've divided into five groups with each group having a leader, a treasurer, a house designated as headquarters, a crop to plant, and produce sales money to watch over.  These are not things we suggested, they've organized this themselves.  We walked from headquarters to headquarters to inspect their respective harvests including peanuts, palm oil, rice and cassava.  Each group prepared a lovely display of their produce, complete with the money they've made so far.  When we asked why they had not spent any money we were told that they were waiting to finish selling all of the produce before they sat down as an entire group to decide how to allocate it to the needs of the village.  They also shared with us that this program has already significantly reduced the poverty level because now when a community member is in trouble, they petition the women for a loan to meet their immediate need then repay the loan when they can.  Can anyone say Yassah's Savings and Loan!!!"
