Why I Go To Haiti

by Mark Thomas

1. Because it's hard, but I recognize that God's will for the next season of my life might lie outside of my comfort zone.  So I want to push back the walls of that "zone."  That takes proactive, initiative energy on a regular basis.

2. Because God's worldview is bigger and better than my WV.  I want to move and expand my WV to overlap His.  That takes intentionality, too.

3. To further study the no-man's-land between rigid denominational WVs and cultural spirituality that small WVs dismiss in toto (I have a diagram of that which is easier to understand than these words!).

4. To discover any effective implementation of another culture's interpretation and obedience to the Great Commission.

5. To hear hymns and praise songs sung with passion in Creole.  "Lord, when I die, put me in the heavenly Haitian choir :)
