Trinity is Off to Haiti Once Again!

On Friday, March 15, our Haiti team will make the familiar trip to Picot, Haiti, a district of five churches in the mountains of southern Haiti. We began this journey 23 years ago when we first met our Sister Church and decided to make a long-term commitment to this region and these partners. Since that time, we have made many trips, built schools, churches, parsonages, and homes. We have distributed food, played games, taught, worshiped, evangelized. trained, preached, laughed, cried, and eaten more Haitian cuisine than we can remember. Mostly, we have built deep, lasting friendships with people we love and with whom we have enjoyed sharing our lives. Please be in prayer for our team all next week.

Our work in Haiti is part of a larger work. Reciprocal Ministries International (RMI) has been our partner in developing this relationship with our Haitian friends. They have been working in Southern Haiti since the mid 1980's and their mission is simple: to mobilize global partnerships to transform lives in Christ. Last year alone, through sister church partnerships like the one we enjoy, they were able to see the following accomplished:

1 Church building was built.
1 Global Leadership Seminar was hosted for 200 leaders with two follow up seminars for 30 leaders.
2 School Classrooms were built.
4 new Sister Churches began their journey.
4 Generators were given to churches.
5 Motorcycles were given to pastors.
14 Homes were built for Haitian families.
16 Events or Retreats were hosted.
25 Goats were distributed to Haitian families.
28 Open air evangelistic services were held.
30 Teams spent time with their Sister Churches.
45 Water purification systems were installed.
51 People came to Christ during our visits.
120 Visits were made to churches for the work of our Hope for Kids school sponsorship program.
138 School benches were built.
241 US team members visited their friends in Haiti.
717 Bibles were distributed.
2105 Children were given an education through the Hope for Kids program.
2400 Salvations were recorded at the various Haitian churches.
3257 children were given a hot lunch each day.
741,456 meals were distributed through the Hot Lunch and Food For Haiti programs.

Little things add up to make a big difference. Let's celebrate!
