Report from our Team in Haiti, by Mark Thomas

The TBC team spent Friday night in Les Cayes at the Reciprocal Ministries International Guest House.  We were up with the chickens this morning.  No one cares about early hours because it means we can drink delicious Haitian coffee sooner.  Yum!

Today is Inauguration Day in Port au Prince and the Haitians are happy to have a new leader.  We all hope this one is the first in a long line with a public servant attitude that can improve infrastructure and encourage education.  Yet the hope of the world will never be governments.

We will drive from Cayes to Picot soon to meet old friends as well as make new ones.  They are encouraged when Americans come to their village to share their sorrows.  Just to know others care lifts their burdens. Solutions to their problems are complex and will take at least a generation of education (especially the children) in a Biblical worldview.

If you believe in prayer, join with us in spirit wherever you are:  "Oh Lord, the church is the only hope of the world and this country needs a lot of it...and a little help.  The only ability we have is our availability to love these people by serving them and reminding them You love them as much as you love us. Amen."
